Brian was an incredibly influential person in my life. I first met him in 2009 when I arrived at Woking Weightlifting Club With an MSc in S&C and little idea about actual training. He was only too willing to put me in my place... but also help me develop. Not only did he coach me, but also helped me to build a career in strength and conditioning and to become a weightlifting coach. He was never too busy to answer questions I had a about training; weightlifting or S&C related. He had a wealth of knowledge and wisdom around training, which I now wish I’d have asked even more questions! I can’t even begin to count the number of people who Brian would have influenced through coaching at Woking, running courses and competitions and sitting on the board at BWLA, but it is in the thousands! It is with great pride and a privilege to continue on Brian’s legacy at Woking Weightlifting Club, and all of our current and future successes are a testament to the years commitment and work that Brian had given. I can only thank him for the support over the years and hope I did him proud. We will be finding a way to honour Brian’s memory at Woking Weightlifting Club every year so watch this space! Thanks for everything Brian, rest in peace. Shaun Joffe
